BOOM! It happened, I turned 24. And it finally hit me that I must change the, "23-year-old aspiring luxury market leader..."under my bio to "24-year-old." *cringes*
Suddenly a year has flown by since I last turned 23 in last years birthday dress which turned out to look like a maternity dress in pictures. Epic fail on my part. Bought the dress two sizes bigger thinking I could pull it off. Apparently I looked like a latina version of Tinker Bell. Wtf, exactly what was I thinking???! So this year, I made sure to not procrastinate on the birthday dress shopping and purchased the perfect little teal number from Bebe. Am I digressing? I am.
So 24. Let's talk about this magical number. Within the past 5 days of turning a year older, I've been piling an imaginary list in my head of things I-NEED-TO-GET-MY-ASS-ON. (Post on this coming soon.) I'm sure there are many of you thinking the same. Another year older and you've YET to figure out what the hell to do with your life. Which in my case, my roommate and I have frequently been bitching and complaining about life lately. It's rather depressing. Usually these depressing conversations happen in our conference room. By conference room I mean the kitchen because #wedon'tknowhowtostopeating #storyofourlives.
Our convo's go a little like this:
Roomie: "What'd you do today?"
Me: "worked." -__-
Roomie: "Oh that sucks, I got yelled at by my boss again"
Me: "Figures, what terrible things did they say this time"
Roomie: "Sames as everyday"
Me: "It's ok, atleast you didn't have to deal with laksdflaksdngkj"
Are you jealous yet? Wait, it gets better. Our other friends seem to have life whipped up to perfection. And we just sit there in awe of everything. But to keep things intriguing, I won't give actual names. Why? Because that would just be stupid. Our friend, who we'll refer to Allison, is living the fucking dream. She's popular, she's loved by EVERYONE, she's the one girlfriend you'll never have a problem with. Why? Because she's that fucking amazing! Allison, is currently having a picture-perfect blast in New York City interning with Chan Luu, working part-time at Michael Kors on Fifth Ave, AND working another part-time at Henri Bendel. Did you just realize you life sucks? Yea, me too. Needless to say, she also happens to have time for socializing with cool people in the city. Allison we love you! *insert crying emoji here*
And just like that, we're reminded that anything is possible. Only if we could just figure out this thing called Life. Err, I mean "becoming an adult" with the added accessories such as electricity bills that currently do not fit in our glamourous wardrobes. We prefer to spend that money elsewhere. *raises hand*
"Iced skinny latte please."
